What makes our Hobart store special?
For more than 70 years, Tasmanians have trusted their vision to Total Eyecare. At our Macquarie Street practice, we have invested in the latest advanced technology, including OCT, wide fields camera, visual fields machine, and digital retinal photography to provide you with a comprehensive analysis of the health of your eyes.
We love being independent
Total Eyecare is an amalgamation of several independent practices. Since our beginnings in 1946, independence has been valued by all our owner optometrists as it allows us to make the best clinical decisions for you. Independence allows us to choose our lens, contact lens and frame suppliers without restriction. Having access to all the best quality products for our patients is why we remain proudly independent. As fierce Tasmanians, we also contribute to our local community by employing locals and supporting our local economy.
Optometrist Services Available at Our Hobart Clinic
Total Eyecare provides a wide range of eye care and eyewear services as your local optometrists. Hobart locals can turn to our team for prescription glasses, prescription lenses, advanced eye testing, and much more.
We are proud to be the only optometry group that is wholly owned by Tasmanian optometrists. Since 1946, we have been providing excellence in clinical eye care through the provision of a wide range of services and treatments. This includes:
- Prescription glasses: We can provide you with fashionable frames and advanced spectacle lenses that will suit your vision needs and your lifestyle
- Ortho-K lenses in Hobart: Orthokeratology – or Ortho-K – involves wearing overnight contact lenses which gently reshape your cornea. This allows you to enjoy better vision during the day without glasses or contact lenses
- Dry eyes: Visit a Total Eyecare clinic to find relief from the symptoms of dry eye
- Myopia Control: Total Eyecare offers a range of myopia control options, including orthokeratology
- Children’s Optometrist: Poor vision can interfere with your child’s learning and development. To test your child’s vision and assess their eye health, contact Total Eyecare.
