Sib Payne is a Senior Clinical Optometrist who graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2004 and obtained a Masters Degree in 2007. She has worked in NSW in Port Macquarie, Newcastle and Wollongong, and then in Melbourne where she worked in an independent private optometry practice.
Sib’s is endorsed to prescribe ocular medication for management of eye diseases, including infections, inflammatory conditions, glaucoma and dry eye syndrome. She has completed a Specialist Certificate in in contact lens fitting and has a particular interest in looking after patients with keratoconus and other corneal disorders, as well as high myopes and children with progressing myopia. She is currently completing a Fellowship of the Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia.
Sib has been involved in outreach optometry, including in a volunteer capacity since 2003 in East Timor, Samoa and Tuvalu, including training and mentoring the new generation of local Optometrists in East Timor.
Outside of optometry, Sib loves travelling, snowboarding, and is a foodie in training. You’ll find Sib in our Hobart and Sandy Bay practices.
